High Intensity Daily Personal Activities

Complex Needs Require Expert Care

When it comes to high-intensity daily support, "good enough" isn't enough. You need precision, clinical oversight, and unwavering safety standards.

At High Support Care, we specialise in supporting NDIS participants with complex health requirements. Our team of highly trained support workers and Registered Nurses work together to deliver medical-grade support in the comfort of your own home.

High Intensity Daily Personal Activities

What is High-Intensity Support?

High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA) are specific NDIS supports for participants who require specialised health care. These tasks carry a higher risk if performed incorrectly, which is why we adhere strictly to the NDIS Practice Standards (Module 1).

We don't just assign any staff member to these shifts. We assign staff who have received specific training and delegation from a health practitioner to manage your unique needs.

Enteral Feeding & Management

Support for participants who cannot eat by mouth. We manage PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) and JEJ tubes, safely administer feeds, flushes, and medication via the tube, and provide stoma care with strict infection control.

Complex Bowel Care

Assistance for participants at risk of severe constipation or faecal incontinence (often due to spinal injury). We administer suppositories and enemas, and maintain strict monitoring and recording of bowel charts to prevent autonomic dysreflexia.

Urinary Catheter Management

Daily care for Indwelling (IDC) and Suprapubic (SPC) catheters. We empty drainage bags, maintain hygiene, and monitor for signs of UTI (Urinary Tract Infection).

Respiratory Support & Ventilation

Ventilator management for participants dependent on mechanical ventilation. Tracheostomy care including suctioning and keeping the airway clean. Safe administration and monitoring of oxygen therapy.

Diabetes Management

Blood glucose monitoring (BGL) for unstable diabetes. Administration of insulin via pen or pump. Management of hypo- and hyperglycaemic episodes.

Epilepsy & Seizure Management

Support for high-risk seizure activity. Administration of emergency medication (e.g. Midazolam) as per the management plan.

Safety & Clinical Governance

We take the responsibility of your health seriously. Our High Intensity service model includes:

Clinical Oversight: All high-intensity care plans are reviewed by our Registered Nurses.

Specific Training: Staff undergo "client-specific" training. This means they are trained on your specific equipment and your body, not just a generic dummy.

Collaboration: We work directly with your hospital discharge team, GP, or treating specialist to ensure our care plan matches their medical orders exactly.
